As with a network password or other personal ID, having the ability to change your Net2Go password is an important part of your home network security strategy.

When you type the Net2Go password, Network Magic uses encryption to make your password secure before transmission. The password is not sent in plain text format.

Network Magic helps protect your password-protected shared folders from unauthorized access.

If anyone tries to sign in and repeatedly types an incorrect Net2Go password within a short period, Network Magic automatically disables network access temporarily.

Depending on the number of password failures, Network Magic disables access for either five minutes or 30 minutes. Only after this time period will Network Magic allow any user to try to sign in again.

Doing this helps prevent network crackers (hackers) from connecting to the network by guessing the Net2Go password.

If you set up password-protected folders, you type the Net2Go password in order to access them.

To help maintain your network's security, Network Magic does not allow uploading to public folders.

You can allow or prevent the uploading of files to the password-protected folders in your Net2Go Web site. This allows or prevents anyone from uploading, whether it is a visitor to your site or a member of your network.

To prevent accidentally uploading files that contain viruses or worms into the network, Network Magic automatically prevents the uploading of certain types of files.

Example Using Net2Go, visitors cannot upload executable programs (that is, files with names ending in .exe). Because certain programs are malicious, Network Magic prevents uploading to help keep your network more secure.

In the event that there is a serious, system-wide security issue that affects Net2Go customers, the Net2Go feature will automatically shut down on your Net2Go host. This is done to help protect the security of your network and your personal files.
